What to Prepare and Bring

Itinerary

Day 1Hanoi arrival (D)

Upon your arrival, Vietnam Photography Tour start by the images of Hanoi streets through your camera lens until evening when you sit for inspired Water Puppet Show. In the evening, we will all meet for a delicious Vietnamese meal at a gourmet restaurant a t Hanoi Old Quarter.

Day 2Hanoi sunrise - Ninh Binh - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc (B/L/-)

In the early morning, you will explore a conner of Vietnam while almost people are still sleeping. Join us before sunrise at bustling Long Bien Market, as thousands of deliveries from the provinces and farther-flung regions of Vietnam provide the traders with stock. There’s a great deal to explore, with colourful fruit stalls, workers unloading trucks, and a fish and meat market with some very talkative traders down near the river. As the sun rises, the market slows down, and we’ll walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and join the local early risers for tai chi. We finish up with a delicious bowl of local ‘pho’ and a strong Hanoi coffee.
Have breakfast, then enjoy car trip to Ninh Binh. Arrival at Tam Coc and boat trip through valley and caves. We have a workshop on landscape photography and portraiture as we cruise, and have time for a trek up to one of the region’s most beautiful ancient pagodas.
After lunch, Depart for Hoa Lu, a complex of ruins that in the 10th and 11th centuries stood as the capital of Vietnam. We have ưalking tour of Hoa Lu, with a focus on shooting architecture.
Explore the paddies and villages around Ninh Binh – scenes of rural life. We’ll look in more detail at landscape photography, and capturing images of working life, with conical-hatted farmers and their buffalo making particularly interesting subjects.

Day 3Ninh Binh - Mai Chau (B/L/D)

Rise early, in time to photopraph the sunrise before transfer to Mai Chau. On arrival, check in a homestay for refreshments then take an easy walk for an overview of the local life of Thai ethnic group.
In the afternoon, we take an easy trek around the beautiful Mai Chau valley to visit more Muong and Thai minority villages, pretty handmade textile products and vast paddyfields to enjoy the routine life of the Thai people.

Day 4Mai Chau - Moc Chau - Tu Le (B/L/D)

It’s a long day today since the mountain roads do not allow the car’s highest speed exceed 45km per hour. In return, we are crossing the most magnificent part of the Hoang Lien Son range – the Tonkinese Alps, the home of most colourful-dressed montagnards, who still maintain lots of their long-term culture and traditions. From Mai Chau, we will drive to Moc Chau, star tour to visit Thai and H’Mong Villages. From Chieng Di Hamlet, through Moc Chau tea plantation hills as well as take visit to Moc Chau dairy farm and several hamlets with hundreds of fruits and flowers species on the way. You will spend time visiting tea plantation hills and local villages as well as communicate with the locals.
Arriving in Tu Le in the evening, a little town located at beautiful valley at the foot of Khau Pha Pass.

Day 5Tu Le - Mu Cang Chai (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we have a sunrise shoot in the stunning terraces and then have a soft trek to the rice valley and visit some villages. Taking photographs and meeting local people. Back to the town and having lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we start our drive up the famous Khau Pha Pass. This mountain pass is known for terraced rice paddies. The scenery over the valley from the pass is so stunning at the rice reason, especially during the harvesting time. We will have some stops for photo opportunities on the way to Mu Cang Chai. Arrive in Mu Cang Chai town late in the afternoon. Check in another home-stay by the town. After getting our baggage stored, we will end the day with a gentle walk to visit a village of the Thai ethnic minority at the foot of a mountain nearby. Dinner and overnight at the home-stay.

Day 6Mu Cang Chai - O Quy Ho Pass - Sin Chai village - Sapa (B/L/-)

After breakfast, you will leave Mu Cang Chai. Travel to O Quy Ho Pass – the highest pass in Vietnam (2070m). You should go early to catch the clouds and admire this legendary pass You will visit Sin Chai village, that situated on the bottom of phanxipang mountain before overnight at Cat Cat village. We’ll be talking to the villagers and taking photographs of daily Dzao life. After lunch in Sapa, we head out to Chu Va hill. Our focus here is landscapes, and we’ll be setting up here for some incredible sunset shots across the valley.

Day 7Sapa - Bac Ha market - Hanoi (B/L/-)

In the early morning, you will leave Sapa for Bac Ha market (Sunday). Wandering in a mountain market of northern Vietnam is a must for anyone who’s intending to do a Vietnam photography tour. It fulfills one’s collection of Vietnam images. This is the the biggest market in Sapa, where the locals find rendezvous, apart from buying and selling. And it’s where one would be dressed in her most well-shaped traditional costumes in hope of finding a lover.
We have lunch in Lao Cai and then travel to the River Chay valley, where we’ll have a longboat trip upriver (dependent on river level) and landscape shoot in the area. You will then take about 5.5 hours back to Hanoi.

Day 8Hanoi - Halong (B/L/D)

After breakfast, our shuttle bus will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Halong Bay – designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 1994. Traveling through the scenic fertile Red River Delta countryside, we get to Halong Bay by noon. The natural world heritage site Ha Long Bay is truly one of the most impressive scenery that should not be missed if someone ever comes to the north.
Upon arrival at Ha Long, we embark on cruise for an exploration of the legendary Ha Long Bay. This exciting hours cruise passing by the evocatively shaped islets will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands and islets rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. Enjoy a lunch while you cruising through the bay.
Visiting Halong Pearl Farm Village, take rowing boat through the village or kayaking
Afternoon, arrival in Titop Island, then participate in activities on the island (swimming, climb the mountain,…)
Back the cruise and relax, free fresh fruits are served. You’ll join cooking class guided directly by Chef of the Cruise. You have chance to practice Vietnamese traditional dishes such as spring roll or famous cuisine of Vietnam.
After time for dinner enjoying special dinner on the cruise, you will be free for evening entertainments: play game on the cruise: cards game, chess, karaoke, squid fishing, and overnight on the Cruise.

Day 9Halong - Hanoi - Fly to Danang - Hoi An (B/L/-)

Wake up in the morning to the calming sound of the waves crashing on the nearby islands, enjoy Tai Chi lesson on sundeck. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and relax. Sitting on the upper deck, you can enjoy the breath – taking beauty of the rocky Islands rising from the crystal-clear waters of the Bay. The quiet is almost eerie; in summer you can hear birds singing, even that cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze.
Arrive Sung Sot Cave (Amazing Cave) and joining with guide to visiting and explore the cave.
Our boat start cruising back and brunch buffet will be served on the way. Check out and arrive at the harbor by 11:30. You get back on our car and go back to Hanoi for a flight to Danang. On arrival, you will transfer to your hotel in Hoi An.

Day 10Sunrise In The Fishing Village - Hoi An Walking Tour (B/L/-)

After a hotel pick-up around 4.45am, we head into a local fishing village.
We sit for coffee and evaluate all participants level and help people with camera settings. We also get started with our people photography composition workshop.
After some time shooting the busy fishing activity along the river, we head into the village to witness the local life, grab another coffee and have breakfast.
For the remaining of the tour, we stroll through the narrow streets of the village, meeting the people doing their daily activities and finish with a colourful shipyard.
Coming back to the town, you will take a walking tour for more exploration with old constructions: Japanese Bridge, Sa Huynh Museum, Tan Ky Old House…

Day 11Hoi An - Bana Hills - Golden Bridge - the Dragon Bridge - Danang (B/L/-)

In the morning, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby. Our first amazing views will start right away, to reach Ba Na Hills we will take a ride via Cable Cars.
The most modern Cable Car in Southeast Asia, visit the Dream Stream Cable car Station and see the panoramic views of Quang Nam – Danang City from high above.
After finishing the first cable car, you will visit the Golden Bridge that has recently gone viral, a France wine cellar, Le Jardin D’amour(consists of 9 gardens) and Linh Ung pagoda.
Continue the 2nd Cable Car to visit the French Village Campanile, Nine Floor Goddess Shrine, Tombstone Temple, Linh Phong Monastery, Linh Chua Linh Tu Temple & Tru Vu Tea Shop. Watch Carnival Performance Show, Square Du Dome …Challenge the most popular adventure ride – Alpine Coaster (free ride),
You will then come back to Danang to take photos of the sunset and the Dragon Bridge before heading over the bridge to shoot pictures of the city and the rush hour traffic. We’ll be visiting the pink Danang Cathedral and Han Market on our way to the Danang City Hall, one of the most modern and architecturally interesting government buildings in Vietnam.

Day 12Danang - Hue - Tam Giang lagoon (B/L/-)

After breakfast, journey from Danang to Hue over scenic mountainous roads with spectacular views over the coastline. Admire the dramatic Hai Van Pass, the high dividing line between the climate zones of north and south Vietnam. Passing Lang Co beach, a lovely stretch of beach curving outwards between a clear blue lagoon and the East Sea.
You will have time to enjoy sunset on Tam Giang lagoon. Get on boat (sampan) and cruise to Sam Chuon area to start your trip on Tam Giang Lagoon. To late afternoon, you change to discovery the biggest part of Tam Giang Lagoon. This is the wonderful moments to take your photos. Floating on the water, you will have time to see the changes of time and life as well as the local life of fishing village. An interesting to visit “Cho house”, nò, sáo…

Day 13Hue City - Fly to Saigon (B/L/-)

After breakfast, you will cruise on the Perfume River. Visit the ancient and sacred Thien Mu Pagoda.
Visit the Citadel – The palaces of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945), the last dynasty of Vietnam – Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Imperial Ancestral Temple and Hue Royal Antiques Museum.
After lunch, departure to folk painting village – Sinh village. This village is famous for have been as well-known as Dong Ho folk painting dating more than 4 centuries. Recent years Sinh village paintings to be honored as a cultural heritage of the nation should be kept and preserved. Many research projects, many artisans also assert artistic value and cultural value of bloated village life paintings, particularly the value of spiritual life.
You ride along the village streets and see activities of local people cultivating vegetables and green rice fields. On the streets of this village, you will discover and learn more about the culture of the ancient architecture of the Hue people. Next, visit the paper flower gallery of the Thanh Tien village where you can find out traditional paper flower patterns and learn how to make lotus flowers under the direction of the artisan in the village.
In the evening, you will take a flight to Saigon. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 14Saigon City tour - Cu Chi Tunnel (B/L/-)

After breakfast, you will visit The famous Cu Chi Tunnel system which was created to assist the Vietnamese Revolutionists against the French in 1948. It was an underground city with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers etc and in certain areas, housed up to 10,000 people, who virtually lived underground for years.
After a video introduction and a guided tour through the grounds, you will have the opportunity to take part in the unique experience of guerillas living underground during the war, with a crawl through 20/30/50 meters of the tunnel system.
Taste typical boiled tapioca and hot tea before you come back to Saigon.
In the afternoon, we will take you through the historical monuments in the heart of Saigon and some of its hidden gems.
We will cover the fundamentals of travel photography and put them into practice with a series of assignments on camera settings, composition and creativity.
The tour starts in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral and we will make our way to the Saigon River, while making stops in some of the most emblematic locations of the city. Along the way, we will help you look for opportunities to capture some interesting street scenes.
Our photowalk will finish near the Bitexco Tower.

Day 15Saigon departure (B/-/-)

It is your own time today. At leisure for relaxation or shopping until your driver transfers you to the airport for your departure flight.
