Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Ho Chi Minh city - Street foods (-/-/-)

Vietnam Great Tours guide and driver will welcome you with the VIETNAM GREAT TOUR LOGO & your name on signboard at the airport and drive you to the hotel. During the drive your guide will provide an introduction to Saigon.

In the evening, we will start foodie trip by walking around district 1 to visit some famous and specialized – food families or stall/ local restaurant. Taste some popular authentic food by yourself in hidden alleys and sidewalks that you never imagine.

Day 2Ho Chi Minh City cooking class – Cu Chi Tunnel (B/L/-)

Morning cooking lesson at the Vietnam Cookery Center: the hands-on cooking course is conducted by a professional chef and translated by a MC who will explain the teaching of the chef and talk about the history and culture of Vietnamese cuisine. The lesson includes a market visit and lunch. Afternoon excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels: Cu Chi was an important base during the American War, because of its strategic location. The Vietcong built a 200km long network of tunnels connecting command posts, hospitals, shelters, and weapon factories. Dug out by hand tools without the use of cement, this amazing network was only recently opened to tourists.

Day 3Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (B/L/-)

After breakfast, you will depart from Saigon and head south to Ben Tre province (90km – 1.0 hours). On arrival, you take a boat trip along the river to visit a brick kiln factory, a coconut processing workshop and a local mat-weaving house.
Visit a quite village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life and enjoy some local fresh fruits.
You will then take Xe Loi ride (a kind of modern motorized rickshaw) or cycling tour to explore around village under coconut row
After lunch, you will row sampan along the water coconut canals with beautiful tropical scenery
Back in the car at about 3 pm to drive to Can Tho. On arrival in the capital city of the Mekong Delta, do a walking city tour, including the local evening market to take photos of the busy trading activities before checking in the hotel.

Day 4Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/-)

After Breakfast at hotel, take a motor boat to visit Cai Rang – the most fascinating floating market where we can see all trading activities on Mekong river. A short stop to orchard garden to taste a variety of delicious fresh fruits and walk around the village to see the beautiful scenery and daily activities of the locals. Disembark at Ninh Kieu and transfer back to HCMC. On the way, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda which is one of Vietnamese popular destinations

Day 5Ho Chi Minh City – Danang – Hoi An (B/-/-)

Morning transfer to the airport to take flight to Danang. Pick up upon arrival to Danang. Visit the fascinating Cham Museum, famous China Beach and the Marble Mountains en route to charming Hoi An. Known as Faifo to early Western traders, it was one of South East Asia’s major international ports and today it still retains that special old-world feel. Enjoy a walking tour through the Old Quarter and try some of the local specialties. Hoi An is also famous for its large number of tailor shops, so if you want to have a new wardrobe made up, this is the time to do it.

Day 6Hoi An Street Foods (B/-/-)

Today Vietnam Culinary Tour takes you on an educational walk to the local markets where you will see and learn about all the different foods grown in the area. Then walk around the streets and back alleys in historic Hoi An. As well as taking in the local sights you will will stop at a variety of different street stalls and tour guide will explain what food each vendor has to offer, the best way to eat it. Foods on offer can include Banh Mi, Cao Lau, Com Ga, Banh Bao Vac (White Rose Dumplings), rice pancakes, noodles, cakes etc. A great way to experience authentic local Vietnamese cuisine. Tastings will depend on the time of year and which vendors are out that day.

Day 7Hoi An – Danang – Hanoi – Street foods (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will be free until our driver arrives to take you to the airport for a flight to Hanoi. After check-in hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam Culinary Tour gives you a different view of Hanoi by walking through Hanoi’s Old Quarter street markets with a local guide who’s passionate about food, and discover the exotic flavors of Vietnam with fellow food-lovers. Sample fruit, hawker street food and local specialties like pork crepes, and visit Hanoi’s largest covered market, Dong Xuan. Afterwards enjoy a performance of a traditional water puppet show. This fantastic art form originated in northern Vietnam and is best seen in Hanoi. The Municipal Water Puppet Theater is located on the shore of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Day 8Hanoi Cooking Class and Sightseeing Tours (B/L/-)

Morning cooking class: Today’s class begins with a walk, accompanied by the Chef of Hanoi Cooking Centre to the local market, where participants get a chance to learn all about Vietnamese ingredients. After that, everyone rolls up their sleeves in the kitchen to prepare a proper Vietnamese meal. After the class lunch will be served in the Hanoi Cooking Centre to sample all the different dishes prepared during the class.
This afternoon, you will visit the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda on the West lake (one of the oldest pagoda in Vietnam) and the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam. We’ll also see Vietnam’s first university, constructed in 1070 – it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

Day 9Hanoi Departure (B/-/-)

Free at leisure until transferring to the airport to take departure flight for next destination.
