Itinerary

Day 1Hanoi arrival (-/-/-)

Vietnam Great Tours guide and driver will welcome you with the VIETNAM GREAT TOUR LOGO & your name on signboard at the airport and drive you to the hotel, it takes about 30 min to get to the hotel.

During the drive your guide will provide an introduction to Hanoi. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2Hanoi City tour (B/L/-)

Vietnam Classic Tour today starts by full day City Tour in Hanoi – Vietnam’s artistic and intellectual capital. We will visit Hanoi’ s main cultural attractions, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his House on Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Ethnology Museum and the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple.

We will also exploring the fascinating Old Quarter and it’s hundreds of specialty shops selling silk clothing, lacquer ware, embroidered linens, furniture, bamboo, cooking utensils, ceremonial objects and more. Enjoy people-watching at one of many stylish cafes or shop for impressive modern art in some of the city’s many galleries. It’s also a great place to explore on foot with numerous photo opportunities. Water Puppet Performance will be the evening highlight. This is the unique form of Vietnamese art come from wet rice civilization of South East Asia.
In the evening, you will be on an overnight train trip heading to Sapa.

Day 3Sapa arrival – Excursion to Hill tribe market (B/L/-)

This day, Best Vietnam Tour brings you to attractive lifestyle of minority people in Vietnam.

Morning arrival in Lao Cai station you will be met up by your private local guide and driver. They will bring you to a hotel nearby where you can freshen up in a day-use room and enjoy breakfast, before traveling to one of the most colorful markets of the region. After the market tour and lunch at a local restaurant you will continue to travel by road Sapa and check into our hotel.

Below are the market options.

Please note: Your tour program may vary, depending on your day of arrival and whether you are wishing to focus on activities or culture.

Option 1: Cao Son – Wednesday Market.
Enjoy a beautiful scenic 2 hour drive to visit the Cao Son market. We take a dirt road which leads up into the mountains through the pine tree forests and villages that surround tiny markets. Flower H’mong, Tu Di, Tay and Giay are ethnic minorities who come to trade local products such as food, agricultural supplies and fabric here. After exploring these markets our car will take us back to Muong Khuong for lunch. After lunch in a local restaurant we will visit the most secluded peaceful villages, and have the opportunity to observe traditional practices such as distilling wine from corn and making bacon! We will be offered a special corn cake when you stop by a local house.

Option 2: Bac Ha – Sunday Market.
Leaving Lao Cao we drive to Bac Ha market (approximately 2 hours). Arriving at Bac Ha, we visit the big market and the colorful ethnic people of the Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen minorities, who gather here to buy and sell their handicraft products. After spending the morning exploring the market our lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch we drive downhill and begin a short walk to Trung Do Village which is home to the Tay minority. Here we will visit a traditional Tay house. We then travel by boat through this amazing countryside to Bao Nhai Village.

Option 3: Can Cau Market – Saturday market.
After breakfast we will take a 2 hour drive to Can Cau market. Our journey will take us through the mountainous border area between Vietnam and China. Situated 20 kilometers from Bac Ha, Can Cau is a small but very colorful market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a very photogenic display of Flower Hmong, Nung and Phu La ethnic costumes. After spending the morning exploring the market, we will leave for Bac Ha town where we will have lunch. From Bac Ha we drive downhill (1/2 hour) to start a short walk to Trung Do Village which belongs to the Tay minority. We will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Tay house. We then travel by boat through this amazing countryside to Bao Nhai Village.

Option 4: Coc Ly Market – Tuesday market.
Drive from Lao Cao (2hrs) to Coc Ly market situated between the stunning mountains by the Chay River. Every Tuesday morning, the people from the surrounding ethnic villages such as Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen gather to buy and sell products. Having explored the market, we will then take a boat trip to Flower H’mong village of Na Nen and trek to Trung Do, the village of the Tay minority people. Here we will enjoy a picnic lunch in a local house with the Tay people. From there we will travel by boat down the river, and experience the magnificent sights surrounding the river banks.

Day 4Sapa – Trek to Hill Tribe villages – Overnight by train to Hanoi (B/L/-)

After breakfast your private guide and driver will collect you at the hotel and take you (40 minute drive) to Tram Ton Pass, a height of 2047 meters above sea level, the highest pass in Vietnam.
Enjoy amazing views of the surrounding mountains and lush forests of the Hoang Lien National Park. From there you will trek 30 minutes through a tropical rain forest enjoying the wonderful flora and fauna. Continue to trek along a stream arriving at the Love Waterfall, a wonderful place to relax in Sapa. Returning to Tram Ton Pass and drive back to Sapa.

In the afternoon your guide will meet you again and commence a walking tour down to Cat Cat cultural village, just 3kms from Sapa (Sa Pa) town. A leisurely walk through the old village offers an overview of the traditional customs and practices of the ethnic Black H’mong minority. You will have the chance to visit a local home and see how they make their distinctive textiles and costumes.
Continue walking and stop by a stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydro-electric power station, which was constructed by the French during the colonial era in Vietnam. Follow a dirt trail snaking through the mountain and enjoy the spectacular scenery while trekking along a narrow river bed until you reach the main road where your driver will be waiting to transport you back to Sapa.
The rest of your day is free until you are transferred by a private vehicle back to Lao Cai station to catch the overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 5Hanoi – Halong (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we start Vietnam Classic Tour today by transfer to Halong Bay – designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 1994. Traveling through the scenic fertile Red River Delta countryside, we get to Ha Long Bay by noon. The natural world heritage site Ha Long Bay is truly one of the most impressive scenery that should not be missed if someone ever comes to the north.

Upon arrival at Halong, we embark on cruise for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting hours cruise passing by the evocatively shaped islets will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands and islets rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. Enjoy a Sea food lunch while you cruising through the bay.

Arrival in Van Gia floating fishing village, take rowing boat through the village or kayaking to visiting around the floating fishing village. Visiting Halong Pearl Farm Village, and Swimming in the bay.

Back the cruise and relax, free fresh fruits are served. You’ll join cooking class guided directly by Chef of the Cruise. You have chance to practice Vietnamese traditional dishes such as spring roll or famous cuisine of Vietnam.

After time for dinner enjoying special BBQ seafood on the cruise, you will be free for evening entertainments: play game on the cruise: cards game, chess, karaoke, squid fishing, and overnight on the Majestic Cruise.

Day 6Halong – Hanoi (B/-/-)

Wake up in the morning to the calming sound of the waves crashing on the nearby islands, enjoy Tai Chi lesson on sundeck. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and relax. Sitting on the upper deck, you can enjoy the breath – taking beauty of the rocky Islands rising from the crystal-clear waters of the Bay. The quiet is almost eerie; in summer you can hear birds singing, even that cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze.

Arrive Sung Sot Cave (Amazing Cave) and joining with guide to visiting and explore the cave.

Our boat start cruising back and brunch buffet will be served on the way. Check out and arrive at the harbor by 11:30. You get back on our car and go back to Hanoi.

Day 7Hanoi – Flight to Danang – Hoi An walking Tour (B/-/-)

Breakfast is at the hotel. You are free at leisure until being transferred to the airport for a flight to Danang experience Vietnam Classic Tour routes in central of Vietnam.
On arrival, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel in Hoi An.
In the afternoon, you will have a two hour walking tour, visiting Hoian’s best attractions: Quan Cong temple, the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Old Merchant House, Fujian Assembly Halls and the local fish market.

Day 9Hoi An – Danang – Flight to Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon) (B/-/-)

Breakfast is at the hotel. Transferred to Danang airport for the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Saigon half day city tour includes the Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, and the Museum of History to see some interesting displays and photographs following the path of the revolution. Then visit the Reunification Palace for a glimpse into the lifestyle of the democratic regime of former South Vietnam.

Day 10Ho Chi Minh City – Tay Ninh – Cu Chi tunnel (B/L/-)

Vietnam Classic Tour today brings you to experience full day tour to Cu Chi, located about 70 km from Saigon, where you will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, the former stronghold of the Viet Cong with a network of tunnels three levels deep stretching over 200 km. Then we visit the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh and learn about its unique world religion.

Day 11Ho Chi Minh City – Day trip to Ben Tre/ Mekong Delta (B/L/-)

Today, Vietnam Classic tour brings you to Mekong Delta – the must see area in the south. Your private guide and driver will take you out of Ho Chi Minh City in a private vehicle and onto some beautiful country roads to Ben Tre Town, the heart of the Mekong Delta, popularly known as the “rice bowl” of Vietnam, and is famous for its vast rice fields, numerous waterways and beautiful landscapes.
Arriving at Ben Tre town you will embark on a motorized boat trip around the scenic Bến Tre River, viewing various local industries along the way. During the boat ride you will stop to visit the local workshops to see how bricks & sleeping mats are made. You also take a motor cart (xe lôi) passing rice and vegetable fields.
Return to Ben Tre town for lunch, after which you will be driven two hours back to your hotel.

Day 12Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B/-/-)

Breakfast is at the hotel. Meet your guide at hotel lobby and being transferred to Tan Son Nhat airport for catching your flight onward. End of Vietnam Classic Tour.
