In this article, I try to give you some idea to have and ideal trip. Indochina countries usually known as Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. But sometimes it relates to Thailand during the trip so I would like to introduce itineraries including Thailand.

Thailand Cambodia Vietnam Itinerary

Travel Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam by land – Indochina Itinerary

Day 1: Bangkok – Siem Reap by bus

Start in Bangkok – Thailand, we take shared bus from Bangkok to Siem Reap through Giant Ibis Transport. Conveniently, you can book online through them. Bus transfer will spend around 8 hours 30 minutes with 3 stops. As the result, you need one day for transfer by bus.

Day 2 – 4: Siem Reap discovery

Enjoy Siem Reap including Angkor temples, Tonle Sap, Siem Reap city. There are 2 attractions you will be regretful if missed: Night market and National Museum. National Museum is a short story about Khmer empire from starting to now, it is presented by modern facilities such as film, models, video clips… Consequently, this is a good way to have an overview about Cambodia and Angkor temples.

Beside that, Night market is also a good place to enjoy at night. It consists of walking streets, pub, shops and various relaxing activities there.

Advisedly, you should spend 3 days in Siem Reap is enough. One day for National Museum and Tonle Sap, 2 days for Angkor aera.

Day 5: Bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Also using Giant Ibis Transport for transfer from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. As the result, it takes around 6 hours with 2 stops.

Day 6 – 7: Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is capital and biggest city of Cambodia. Respectively, you have famous sites to visit: Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, Wat Phnom, Russian Market, Killing Fields, Toul Sleng Museum…

Day 8: Phnom Penh to Vietnam

There 2 ways to go by land from Phnom Penh to the border of Vietnam: by bus or by speed boat. But I strongly suggest to enjoy speed boat. This is a good way to travel on Mekong river as short time and enjoy good view during trip. Finally, you reach Chau Doc (Vietnam) after 6 hours by speed boat. You should spend one night in Chau Doc to prevent tired after a long journey.

Day 9: Transfer from Chau Doc to Can Tho by bus.

Using Hung Cuong bus or Limousine for Chau Doc to Can Tho, it take around 3 hours.

Day 10: Enjoy Cai Rang or Phong Dien floating market in early morning and then transfer to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 10 – 11: Visit Ho Chi Minh and arround.

Day 11 – 14: Take flight or train to Central of Vietnam to visit Hue, Hoi An and Da Nang.

Day 14 – 18: Take flight ot train to Hanoi to visit capital of Vietnam and Halong Bay.
